Come sempre, sotto c'è l'originale in inglese.

1. Ciao Irene, come hai conosciuto i SyncDifferent?

Sei d’accordo? (continua a leggere...)

Assolutamente!!! Maschi o femmine, alti o bassi, normalmente o diversamente abili, magri o pienotti, gay o etero, cosa importa!!!

Mostratevi!

----------ENGLISH VERSION

Coach, Masters Swimmer, Judge, Referee, Course Conductor for Coach & Judge Training, Masters Leader for Synchro Canada, volunteer etc...
My goal is to promote Masters Synchro, for men & women, gay & straight, beginners to champions, basically one and all, and all over the world! No small task, but I'm willing to start small

6. How do you met the SyncDifferent?
I met SyncDifferent at the 2008 Eurogames in BArcelona Spain. You could tell they were fairly new to synchronized swimming but they more than made up for it with their sheer enthusiasm and energy. They cheered all the teams on and were friendly, and I can honestly say I've kept in touch with them since then!

7. Why do you think that men can be great performers in Synchro?
Absolutely, I've met great men in synchronized swimming. They may have small disadvantes vs women, such as buoyancy, but men have the sheer strength and power that most women cannot compete with. BUT, men must learn the proper techniques to harness and take full advantage of their advantages.

8. SyncDifferent says that Synchro is a sport for everybody (at Master level, at least). Do you agree?
Absolutely!!! Male or female, tall or short, able or disabled, slim or curvaceous, gay or straight, who the hell cares!!! Its all about having fun, learning new skills, working on fitness, teamwork, and all that in a low impact environment safe for our bodies and joints.

9. What could be, according to you, the role of a Master team, to make Men Synchro a popular sport?
Show yourselves! Don't just stick to lgbt competitions, go to local competitions or shows, contact the media when you have events (lgbt or otherwise), team up with the local synchro team and/or lgbt masters swim team, the ideas to market yourselves are ENDLESS!
But, when in the pool, keep it fresh and keep it innovative. Change up your music and choreographies, explore different styles, basically expand your world, this is how you will grow on a synchro level.

10. Someone fears that Men Synchro may introduce machism also in this discipline – as it is already in many sports. What do you think about this?
I say bullshit. Women have been in synchro for years and have not stuck to one girly style, but have portrayed warriors of various sorts (think Terminator, Army, Matrix, Conan etc), but have explored humor and art as well.  Men can do the same! If they want to portray macho men, great! If they want to show a softer side, why not? Who needs labels or strict gender roles?!?!
